Analogue/Digital Electronics Engineer

Alba Orbital/PocketQube Shop is the world leader in PocketQube satellites and is one of the UK’s most innovative companies. We are looking to add an Analogue/Digital Electronics Engineer, with emphasis on On-Board Computer (OBC) and Electrical Power System (EPS) design, to our small, highly driven team. You will be tasked with designing, developing, upgrading and testing EPS and OBC boards, as well as supporting the development of an Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS). This position would best suit an early stage engineer with preferably a Master’s Degree or PhD and ideally some industrial experience.
Digital and Analogue electronic hardware design and development for space conditions
Prototyping and testing
Component selection and documentation
Design of circuitry and PCB layout for flight and test hardware.
Assembly and debugging of various hardware.
The candidate must demonstrate
Knowledge of digital electronics and integration within analogue systems.
Experience in PCB design systems and simulation tools (Altium or similar)
Experience of circuit simulation using Spice tools. Ability to peer review, diagnose and debug existing and new electronic designs
Ability to work independently with minimal support.
Technical report writing to a high standard including interface documentation, manufacturing instructions, test reports and user manuals.
Ability to work well in a team and also independently with little support.
Willingness to continuously learn and overcome any obstacle put in their way

General hardware skills (EE,PCB,PSI)
Experience of New Product Introduction processes particularly design for manufacturability and test techniques .
Experience of working in a space/aerospace or other industry with high reliability requirements.
Experience of conducting Parts Stress Analysis, Worst Case Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and Reliability Analysis
Familiarity with systems engineering methods
Experience with mission analysis and simulation
Adequate skills with Matlab and Simulink
£19-22k per annum, up to 18 Month contract based in Glasgow, position to fill ASAP.
